The Professor Pomianowski Foundation on Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Gdansk University of Technology was established as a joint effort of students and university staff. The patron, Karol Pomianowski, was the first historical Dean of the Faculty. The basis of the Foundation is to raise the standards of studying, supporting the outstanding students and supporting the effective start of young researchers. The interest of the Foundation is the general development of engineering, support of science and technology and their transfer to industry.

Aims of the Foundation

The Foundation was established to provide a widespread activity in the following issues:

• Promoting students and young researchers in their fields of scientific activity and academic activity, supporting and creating the development of young scientific staff

• Supporting the scholars and the research teams whose fields of research are related to the technology and culture of science development

• Supporting and creating of technology transfer among Gdańsk University of Technology and the other universities of Poland and the countries inside and outside European Union

• Supporting the transfer of scientific achievements for the purposes of industrial practice

• Supporting the investing initiatives for the sustainable scientific development

• Organizing and co-organizing of lectures, workshops, seminars, scientific conferences and other scientific and educational meetings

The means to fulfil the aims mentioned above are

• Repayable or non-repaydable, partial or total donations of activities, due to the Foundation aims

• Funding the awards and scholarships

• Supporting the non-commercial activity of young researchers

• Financial support of young scientific talents

• Cooperation and agreements with Universities, state and local authorities, autonomy institutions, cultural institutions, societies, creative groups and individuals

• Cooperation with scientific and research institutions and the state institutions, societies and foundations, taking up with science, education and culture

• Conducting and participation in various forms of economical activity

• Achieving the sponsors
